Havering Islamic Cultural Centre is registered with the General Register Office to conduct marriages. You can have your Nikah ceremony with the legal marriage element combined.

You will need to follow the process below to prepare for your marriage:

GIVING LEGAL NOTICE OF MARRIAGE

Before you can have a legally recognised marriage, you and your partner must give notice by booking an appointment at your local register office, the notice waiting period will take between 28/70 days (depending on immigration status). You may give notice up to 12 months ahead of the marriage.

After 28/70 days the schedule will be issued by Havering Register office to allow the marriage to go ahead. No marriage can take place until Superintendent Registrar issues the SCHEDULE.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GIVING NOTICE

GIVING NOTICE OF NIKAH

You must inform Havering Islamic Cultural Centre (HICC) by completing the Nikah Registration form.
Once we have received your Nikah registration form and the date when Registrar will issue the SCHEDULE, we will confirm if we are able to accommodate your wedding on the date that you have provided.
The bride & groom will attend the wedding at Havering Islamic Cultural Centre where the HICC authorised person will conduct the marriage, and sign the SCHEDULE.
Havering Islamic Cultural Centre will issue a Nikah certificate.
You will need to apply for your marriage certificate from Havering Registration Service. CLICK HERE TO APPLY
