Havering Islamic Cultural Centre is now approved by the Home Office to conduct marriages.

You will need to follow the process below to prepare for your marriage:

GIVING NOTICE OF MARRIAGE

Before you can have a legal marriage or register your civil partnership, you and your partner must give notice by booking an appointment at your local register office, the notice waiting period will take between 28/70 days (depending on immigration status).

After 28/70 days a schedule will be issued by the registrar office to allow the legal marriage to go ahead.
If you wish to do the Nikah and Civil registration at the same time you must contact Havering Registration Service on 01708 433 155 to check availability and arrange a date and time for a Registrar to attend the Havering Islamic Cultural Centre.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GIVING NOTICE

GIVING NOTICE OF NIKAH

You must inform Havering Islamic Cultural Centre by completing the Nikah Registration form.
Once we have received your Nikah registration form we will confirm we are able accommodate your wedding on the date that you have provided.
You must bring your blue certificate with you on the day as Nikah is not possible without it. (This is a document issued by the registrar after your legal status is checked)
The bride & groom will attend the wedding at Havering Islamic Cultural Centre where the local Registrar will be present to witness the Nikah and hear the legally binding contract between the couple.
Havering Islamic Cultural Centre will issue a Nikah certificate.
The Registrar will issue a marriage certificate.
